The Learning from Pandemic has led us to realize the importance of building a perfect healthcare system to our Nation. This is the right time for all of us to understand the need and act accordingly to enhance the Indian Healthcare system. Still in many rural areas there is very poor Primary health centers and still people are suffering for proper healthcare needs. It is true that in cities we can find many sophisticated corporate hospitals to fulfill the health needs for the people. Yet the Corporate sector should change their approach to establish their healthcare centers to rural areas also. The healthcare sector should be prepared to handle another outbreak in future.
Making patient centric rather than facility centric
The healthcare sectors should concentrate on taking care of patients healthcare needs rather to spend on their upliftment of infrastructure. Patient centric hospitals will attract more people for their health need by that it facilitates more coordination and collaboration among healthcare providers. The rural healthcare system should be upgraded so as to help the rural population to utilize the facilities in an effective way
Data interoperability
In the post pandemic era the data interoperability will pave way to share the health data among institutions to assess the future health needs. It is also important that the data security, privacy and integrity should be taken into account while it is been shared among the institutions. EHR is one the way to share the patient data secured way.
Optimizing tele-health needs
Telemedicine is one the solution for the current situation as it does emphasis the direct patient doctor relationship. Many hospitals can setup their own tele consultation facilities to promote remote care. This is also a great way to bring the elderly care also wiping out the concept of family doctor.
Early detection and early diagnosis
To build a sustainable Healthcare system early detection and early diagnosis is the need of the hour. The disease diagnosis speeds up the treatment process so that the patients get the right treatment in the right time. Early detection and diagnosis can bring down the risk of the disease among all age of people which leads to better patient outcomes and lower their expenses.
Conclusion
It is obvious from the current situation not only the healthcare system should be changed but the lifestyle of the people should also change to combat with the upcoming pandemics. Though we have digital platforms, high end technologies are in place now still we are fighting with new diseases.
