Post COVID 19 State of Our Nation???…

Post COVID 19 State of Our Nation???…

Dr.S.Sundararajan

Associate Professor-MBA, Sankara college of Science and Commerce

COVID-19 pandemic has created fear and panic unprecedented in human history. Wheels of all sectors are brought to a dead halt, the common man and leaders  are unable to visualize after COVID-19 scenario in the world. The statistical facts and figures were in such earlier cases as World Wars, epidemics, pandemics, natural calamities, or death-tolls due to TB, accidents, heart attacks, cancer, etc., over the last two centuries, need to be analyzed in proper perspective. In the earlier pandemics and natural calamities, people accepted the inevitable and went ahead with their work. Those calamities brought a dip in economic activity and gradually they went back to normalcy and thereafter to a greater prosperity. This time the situation is different as the vested interests want to safeguard their lives at the cost of the poor and underprivileged people who are going to die of hunger and poverty in addition to the deadly Covid virus deaths. We should have gone for a limited lock down and innovative approaches to social distancing in public and work environment. Now we are in a catch 22 situation where we are doomed if we relax the lock down and bound to ruin the country economically if we do not lift the lock down. Extraordinary situations call for innovative solutions. Our priorities should be to save the poor, save the SMEs and nurture entrepreneurship among the youth. We are frittering away the so called demographic advantage.

Government may sincerely think for petty interests of party or individuals, our governance and development model put us in wrong priorities, e.g., sectors like agriculture, education, healthcare, etc., were put on back foot. We emphasized more on urbanization keeping rural India almost untouched, State wise development mainly product and employment has been very imbalanced and uneven. Hardly 5% workforce is organized sector that get the dividend of development leaving over 80% workforce to their destiny, exploited by others. The price we are paying is very heavy. Just think the money we are compelled to pour to minimize the damages.

Urbanization and feeding the urban diet is not the solution. Until and unless policies are designed with the last mile inhabitant’ sadly there will be very little overall progress.  Sadly current indications from the government’s side do not appear to indicate any traction in this direction.

Our honourable Prime Minister confidently shared the plan of resurrection of Indian Economy.

  • He said Rs. 20,00,000 crore (20 Lac crore) will be infused in the economy to infuse new life into the Corona torn economy.
  • Self-reliance is the mantra for post Corona times – Every calamity presents a challenge for humanity. Entire world is a family. Let’s face this challenge, he says.
  • Tough times test patience and create creativity, as necessity is the mother of invention – Live example: India never knew that she can manufacture PPE kits. But now India is manufacturing 200000 (2 Lac kits)
  • Lockdown 4.0 is bound to be extended after receipt of written opinion from the heads of Union Territories till 17th of May.
  • In the video conferencing with Chief Ministers, TV channels, say that Lockdown will be extended.
  • Workers have returned to their origins – New guidelines of administration are they will be employed nearest to their origins and maximum within the district level. To stay or not to stay at original place is optional. There is no restrictions on their moving to cities or other places.
  • This package of 2000000 crore will resurrect industry, workers and the daily wages like taxi drivers, three wheeler operators and DBT (Direct Benefits Transfers) will be made in their bank account.
  • Everyone have to learn to live with Corona i.e. use mask, social distancing and hand washing will be permanent ritual of our life were the last words of PM’s speech.

Stay inside, be safe, and enjoy family life with Corona Lockdown 3

AUTOMATED PACKAGING SYSTEM BY FINDING SUITABLE OPTIMAL BOX SIZE IN WAREHOUSE PACKAGING

AUTOMATED PACKAGING SYSTEM BY FINDING SUITABLE OPTIMAL BOX SIZE IN WAREHOUSE PACKAGING

MAGIC LOGIC BLACKBOX- Solution to determines the optimal size and fill material for each box optimal fulfilment.

Packaging affects many aspects of the business in the product line and the organisation business growth. Revenue growth and the cost reduction can be tied directly to the way the packages and ship the products. Industry packaging materials are processes need to adhere to certain standards of quality and safety. Packaging is extremely important to the business. The machines used to package the products comprise just few of the many moving parts to the packaging process.

The Challenges in packaging system in essential food beverage industry, when customers need the commodity they want to place order quickly and efficiently. The current packaging system comprised a few standard boxes, the warehouse person to select the most suitable sized carton and they had to facilitate the process of producing the shipping boxes. To ensure the customer order in perfect condition the warehouse packaging person would decide on the best way to physically pack the product, which include any fill materials. The critical condition is for packing multiple parts packing it was often hard to find the suitable box and have to spend more money on packing materials.

COVID – STAY HOME STAY SAFE TO HERD IMMUNITY STRATEGY

COVID – STAY HOME STAY SAFE TO HERD IMMUNITY STRATEGY

– Dr.K.ThirugnanaSambanthan, Asst. Professor, Department of MBA, Sankara College of Science and Commerce

The number of Coronavirus Cases all over the world is 4,268,490.  This pandemic deadly virus has killed 287,463 people.  So far 1,533,369 have recovered. Stay Home Stay Safe was the slogan followed throughout the world to fight against this deadly virus.  India has 70,287 people infected by corona and more than 2,294 people have died.  India had three lockdowns so far.  We have been locked down for 50 days. During the first phase of lockdown the state governments had been very strict in implementation as movement of public had been fully restricted.  During this 3.0 Lockdown state governments have been liberal in implementing the lockdown. Several state governments have opened up liquor sales in which public did not follow the basic rules of fighting against corona like social distancing.

There is a big change in strategy to fight against Coronavirus.  Rather than staying away from it, now the strategy is learn to live with coronavirus environment.  Many countries are trying to follow the herd immunity strategy. Herd immunity is a form of indirect protection from infectious disease that occurs when a large percentage of a population has become immune to an infection, whether through previous infections or vaccination, thereby providing a measure of protection for individuals who are not immune.

In a largely populated country like India, which has more percentage of young population some experts are recommending to follow Herd Immunity Strategy i.e. a majority of the population to gain resistance to the virus by becoming infected and then recovering.  This strategy could result in less economic damage and human suffering than restrictive lockdowns designed to stop the virus’s spread.

On the contrary, many experts say that this herd immune strategy is unethical and it is potentially dangerous as it can lead to larger number of deaths. This strategy will boomerang as the probability of success is unknown.

The best way to rapidly develop herd immunity is through vaccination. A vaccine delivers a small amount of a virus into the body, and the immune system learns how to fight it off without having to get sick.  So far no vaccine has been found for corona virus.  Let us watch which strategy the government is going to follow to fight against coronavirus.  Hope it chooses the best one and save the lives.

Telemedicine – “The Need of the Hour”

Telemedicine – “The Need of the Hour”

Ms. V. Vidhya, Assistant Professor, Department of MBA, Sankara College of Science and Commerce

Telemedicine is the delivery of health and health related services like medical care, patient health information, diagnosis, treatment, prevention of disease and injuries via telecommunication and digital communication technology. In India where we have the highest population in person healthcare is becoming a challenging task nowadays especially in rural areas, they need to travel long distance to obtain consultation and treatment. Telemedicine / Telehealth helps in reducing the distance and cost for the patients who needs medical advice. Telemedicine is not a new concept to the medical field. It has its origin when ISRO initiated the Telemedicine in India at 2001 in collaboration with Chennai Apollo hospitals by linking it with Apollo rural hospital at Aragonda village, AP. ISRO, MOHFW, Department of Information Technology (DIT), Ministry of External affairs and state governments played a major role in initiating the Telemedicine in India.

Most of the people in India have access to telemedicine with the help of mobile phones and computers. As the accessibility has improved the rural and semi urban population can connect with the healthcare providers easily. Medical devices like blood pressure monitors, glucose level checker can be used to monitor the vitals by the care givers. Clinicians can gather medical information online and decide on diagnosis and treatment without the patient stepping inside the Doctor office. Telemedicine in India is expected to cross 35 billion dollars by 2022 and it will become a remarkable piece of modern healthcare delivery.

Telemedicine has created a wonderful opportunity to physicians as it connects with their patients remotely and can maintain the social distancing in pandemic situations. With modern medical high-tech devices, the physicians can monitor their patient’s health in long term and with long distance. Touch screen technology provides the clinicians to access the heart rate, blood sugar level, blood pressure by transmitting data from one device to the other. Healthcare information can be shared from one specialist to the other who is in other locations. When a disaster occurs, the shortage of health resources also occurs, which can be controlled by the help of telemedicine technology. This is also the same for a pandemic situation  for e.g.   telemedicine technology can be used to control the pandemic situation prevailing in the recent times. The social distancing can be maintained for the consultation and from the peer infection by consulting through telemedicine technology. The patients who need to be quarantined can consult their doctors remotely via telemedicine for their treatment. The need of hour for the hospitals is the Telemedicine technology.

Revamping India after Covid-19: Ushering in another period of changes

Revamping India after Covid-19: Ushering in another period of changes

Ms.K.Sindhuja, Asst.Professor, Department of MBA, Sankara College of Science and Commerce

The COVID-19 pandemic is one of the deadliest diseases written in the history where all of the humankind faces a typical existential risk. Inside three months, the infection has spread the world over and endangered our wellbeing and prosperity, yet in addition our social and monetary systems.

The pandemic has uncovered separation points in the worldwide exchange and budgetary engineering, disturbing our movement designs, worldwide assembling esteem chains, and administration frameworks. The emergency brings home some intense exercises: singular wellbeing results can’t be separated from the wellbeing and cleanliness frameworks of the network that national outskirts are no resistance against dangers from nature, and that aggregate worldwide activity is progressively for our own individual insurance from such occasions. The expectation remains that the COVID-19 emergency achieves a worldwide revelation with respect to the requirement for saner reactions to the next imposing (and less quickly obvious) risk: the impacts of environmental change. When this scene is behind us, if its lone inheritance is to hand down us a more astute and progressively deliberative way to deal with adjusting the frequently clashing goals of financial advancement and condition security, at that point a lot of good would have happened to it.

Living day to day after lockdowns: restoring the economy like different nations, India is additionally trying to control a prudent way between the need to protect the populace, and to resuscitate the financial motor. The thorough national lockdown has prevailed with regards to easing back the spread of the infection, and the present intuition in the administration is to open the nation for business in a painstakingly adjusted way, concentrating on resuscitating divisions like agribusiness, assembling, and administrations; while segregating geographic hotspots and helpless gatherings. The most convincing necessity for restoring the economy is to adequately deal with the rising up out of the lockdown, guaranteeing that gracefully chains are revived, assembling and administration undertakings are allowed to work, with guaranteeing essential wellbeing cleanliness.

The virus has bought the Indian Economy low due .  Though we face these hardships we people with our strong determination can make it again on our track.
