Back to Office after vaccination
Dr. Priya .K, HOD, SIMS
Covid- 19 second wave has aggravated the impact on health and has put business in crisis following the first wave of the pandemic and it has been hard on employees creating tension in organizations. Due to pandemic employees were refusing to come for work as they had a fear of contracting coronavirus and spreading it to their families. Everywhere there was anxiety as many of them lost their loved ones due to this virus.
Vaccination has brought new hope and paths for the recovery of Indian economy and therefore talks of office are going on to open their doors again and shift remote working to workplace. Though it may be too early to speak as we are not aware of future uncertainties and moreover there is uncertainty regarding the emergence of new SARS-COV-2 variants. Under these uncertainties it is incumbent upon employers by making vaccination available and affordable to all employees .Over the time organization has also assimilate vaccination planning to protect the workforce to return to work safely. Beyond this they should also evaluate employees health protocols, meeting norms, travel policies etc.
There is a also a warning of third wave of covid-19 infections by the end of this year and it has been predicted to be stronger and more severe for younger population compared to the second wave. But there is a strong belief that very less people will be prone to virus. All of us want things to get back to normal quickly but it may take some time. To come out of the crisis the organizations has to change management styles, rethink work culture and motivate them to positive mindset during the pandemic situations
